Iraq, My Next Big Adventure

Hello everyone...
Sorry I have been MIA from myspace and facebook for a while, Holidays and recent workload have just had me swamped! So I wanted to give everyone an update on what has been going on with me lately. I have had a lot of great opportunites open up for me at work lately which are going to make for some exciting new adventures. My big news is that I am going to be traveling to Kuwait and then Iraq for work. Unfortuneatly, due to security reasons I can't reveal exactly when I am travling or where, but I can say I am leaving pretty soon. I am going over with the company I work for which is a contracter for the military and I will be working on military installations. Again, I can't say exactly what I am doing, but I will say that my work is all part of a larger effort to begin bringing our troops home and letting the Iraq peole run their own country! I am going to be in country for about a month as well as in Kuwait before and after my Iraq visit. HERE IS THE GOOD NEWS, I am planning on bringing a digital camera and doing weekly picture posts as well as a video blog of my experience over there. I am going to blog about and video as much of my experiences as possible so that everyone can see a little bit into the daily life of a contractor working in Iraq. I also am hoping to get some time with the men and women of our armed forces that are stationed in Iraq, ask them some questions and have them send some messages back to the USA. I am going to be very busy between now and my deployment so I won't have much time to be online, however I hope that everyone will check back on my site and look out for my pictures and video blogs. I will do my best to check mail but please keep in mind that my interenet access is going to be very limited as well as my time. As most know I am not a very political person, however I am filled with pride and joy to know that I am playing a very small role in helping to GET OUR TROOPS HOME!

Greetings from Parker

I'm "That Guy"

Greetings all.

I kind of had a little rough start to the new year but things are starting to look up. I really don't know what I would have done if i didn't have people in my life who cared. A series of unfortunate events made me sit back and think about my life and how I need to get back focused on the bigger picture. It just seemed like everything came down on me all at once. It was a lot to handle. We don't need details, just know that things are looking better than before. I'm now considering not doing the acting/modeling thing just because I really need to focus on making money. Who knows, it may come to me anyway while I'm not pursuing it. Part time jobs aren't cool so I'm now looking for a full time gig. Anywho, I've been keeping busy designing my logos for my t-shirts and accessories. Yep, I'm still working on it. I kind of took a break from it for a while, but now i'm back on the grind.

In other news, I'm starting to work with runway magazine as an account exectutive. Right now I am working on getting vendors for the Oscars gifting suite in February. Things are starting to turn around slowly but surely. 2008 was great for me. I met a lot of interesting folks and have opened doors of new possibilities. Hopeuflly 2009 will bring greater opportunities for me becasue lord knows i need them. Fun times! Wish me luck!

Why Natalie stays positive

Alot of people have been asking me: How do I stay so positive?

I remember the day that I felt like a VICTIM thinking that the whole world was against me. It was like whatever I did, it just didn't seem to get better at all.

In fact, the more I tried to make things right, the more things seemed to go wrong. This situation itself made me feel miserable.

-> It made me afraid to try something new.
-> It made me afraid to take any risks.
-> It made me afraid to try to reach my full potential.

At that point, I just kept asking myself questions like... "Why, why, and why me?"

I was a good person. I worked hard. I was as or more capable than the next girl. Yet, I felt like a VICTIM, where everywhere I went, people would DESTROY me and keep me from achieving the dream I was pursuing for in my life.

How is that possible? How did I change that? What should I do differently to turn the tables around where everything would work in my favor, instead of against me?

You see... In this world, there are "TWO" types of people:

(1) Negative People.
(2) Positive People.

However, positive people ONLY comprise about 1% of the entire population, whereas negative people make up the rest. So, when you try to go against the ODDS, negative people can try to pull you down.

It's simple, really!

Negative people are afraid that if you are succeeding, are optimistic, and winning, it will mean less for them and they will get left behind. So, when you start telling them about how your life will be, they can get extremely jealous.

They will eagerly say things like:

"Who do you think you are?"
"Only rich people can do that?"
"You are only concerned about making money."
"You are not capable of achieving your dreams at all."

If you buy into their NEGATIVITY, it can make you feel miserable, unworthy, that you are not good enough

Having the self-confidence...

Gives me a feeling of UNLIMITED power. It gives me FULL control over my life and a SOLID BELIEF that I can control my destiny. It RESTORED the self-confidence within me.

The best part is...

"It changed my life completely."

I appear more trustworthy.
I appear more attractive.
I appear more credible in people's eyes.
I am happy and love life

In fact...

I can CLEARLY tell you right now that NEGATIVITY will DESTROY every single important thing you stand for.

When you allow others to defeat you with their negativity, you will become paralyzed and defeated without you even knowing it.

This is the reason WHY you need to make yourself IMMUNE to the possible infection of the DEADLY virus of negativity.

There is NO EXCEPTION TO THIS RULE!

I hope I gave you a little insight on remembering to always stay postitive:)

One idea was to start making youtube videos of me painting with nail polish and papertowels and then sell them on my website and ebay. Besides that's what I was really known for on BB9! Well, that and talking :) LOL

Ringing in the New Year with Kaysar

Another year has come and gone. I like to take this time to reflect upon the journey that I embarked on and use this time to calibrate my life. I guess my introspective thoughts never cease to exist but they reach a peak during the month of Ramadan and continue as we bid farewell to another year. I think about whether or not I am in a better place now than I was a year ago. I would certainly like to think so but how do I really know? The idea is that I leave this earth giving a little more than I have taken. So I spend times like these auditing myself, looking under the hood and picking apart every detail. Why wait until someone else asks the pressing questions regarding my values, beliefs, and philosophy only to realize that I don't know?

What's been up? I'm doing good. I had a very Merry Christmas:) My sister came over to my house with her 2 kids. We stuffed each others stockings and played Santa Clause for my 2 nephews, Kaden and Ryder.

It snowed a few days before Christmas and kept snowing. So luckily people in the beaver state had a white Christmas :) It was just beautiful. Check out the snow and ice pictures on my myspace page in my family album:)

Some of you may already know if you follow me on twitter and facebook but my Grandma is very ill with cancer of the liver. She only has a couple months to live so I have been spending most of my time with her and helping take care of her. My Grandma is a huge influence in my life and I'm so thankful to have her for a Grandma.

She helped shape who I am today.
