How Natty got on Big Brother

Alot of people wonder how the heck I got on Big Brother and what drove me to be on such a crazy show.

It's funny because at that time in my life everything was going wrong for me. My ex broke my heart, bills were piling up, car was breaking down. Nothing seemed to go right.

Then I started reading a book called the Secret and I realized I need to change my way of thinking. I was letting all these negative circumstances control my thoughts & I never felt better. I just felt worse.

So I started to focus on my goals, be positive, thankful & figure out what it is that I desire from life, instead of thinking ohhhh im so depressed, no one loves me, how will I ever get myself out of this mess. I mean I've always been a very positive person but at that time my world was caving in.

I believed in myself, had faith in myself & whatever else it is I chose to do. It's really all about FAITH. I cannot stress that enough. You have to be able to visualize what it is you want and truly believe you will have it, and you will. I promise:) It worked in my life and getting on Big Brother.

Last summer I was watching bb8 and it dawned on me that I am suppose to be on Big Brother. I have always wanted to be on tv, spread the love and be an inspiration to people. It kind of made me sick to think that people who go on these shows tends to be so mean and cut throat to each other. I wanted to go on & show America that you can be a nice, good hearted person & still win. Well I got close.

I told my ex I was going to try out & be on the show & he was like c'mon nat do you really believe out of all the people in the world your gonna get picked. I was like yes I know for a fact I'm going to be chosen. He didn't believe me & told me I need to focus on realistic goals & go back to school. It's easy for him to say that when he lived with his mom for free & had 100 grand in the bank.

Pursuing t.v. was one of my passions & I couldn't look back 10 years from now & wonder what if? I wasn't going to let him change my way of thinking & beleiving in myself.

So I told him alright fine I will leave you alone and talk to you after I'm back from the show.

This happened back in November of 2007, right before I auditioned for Big Brother in December 2007. I never told him that I kept getting call back after call back & eventually made the show. He found out by flipping thru the channels that I was on & was in total disbelief & shock. LOL He called and told me when I got back from the show.

You see what I'm getting at is I believed in myself, had faith, visualized it & didn't allow anyone to put negative thoughts in my brain, not even my ex who didn't believe in me.

If you haven't read the book "The Secret" or " Think & Grow Rich" I truly suggest you read them. Both of these books have helped me immensely:)

Here is something from the book Think and Grow Rich that is so true.........

Faith is the "eternal elixir which gives one life, power and action to the impulse of thought.

Faith is the starting point of all accumulation of Riches!

Faith is the basis of all "miracles" and mysteries that cannot be analyzed by the rules of science.

Faith is the only antidote to failure!

It is a well-known fact that one comes, finally, to believe whatever one repeats to one's self, whether the statement be true or false. If a person repeats a lie over & over, the lie will eventually be accepted as truth. Moreover, it will be believed to be the truth.

Each of us is what we are because of the dominating thoughts we permit to occupy our minds. Thoughts which are deliberately placed in our own mind, and encouraged with sympathy, & with which are mixed any one or more of the emotions, constitute the motivating forces. These forces direct and control our every movement, act & deed.

I hope this gives you a little insight and answers your questions on how I got on BB:)

I love to share my stories with you:) Thank you for reading.

Lots of love,
--Natty
